Statutory COLA comes from the State. It is adjusted before it comes to the school districts and is then known as a "funded" COLA. The funded COLA varies between districts. The above figures represent the original state COLA before it is adjusted. The funded COLA for most districts is MORE than the statutory COLA. The funded COLA for VVUSD is usually LESS than statutory COLA due to the circumstances under which our district was unified.

The 2005—2006 funded COLA for VVUSD (including a per ADA increase over Funded) is 5.25%.

The district has estimated that we will have a population growth of over 2000 students for 2005—2006. This is an increase of over $10 million dollars to the general budget in new monies.
